These clasps are designed to hide knots.Each magnet has a hole through the center like a bead, one end of the hole is larger than the other. You simply string the clasp on the necklace like a bead, tie the knot, and let the knot slip back into the large end of the hole - then you repeat on the other side so when the clasps come together the large holes are facing each other hiding the end knots. Since opposite poles attract, the magnets are sold in pairs: 10 of the magnets have the South pole on the large hole side, 10 of the magnets have the North pole on the large hole side.
